Geographer | Assistant Professor | Geomatics Specialist

Giorgi Kirkitadze is an assistant professor in the Geomatic Department at Ilia State University and a professor at SDSU Georgia. With expertise in GIS and aerial photogrammetry, his work focuses on applying advanced geomatics technologies across construction, geosciences, archaeology, and ecology.

Giorgi has led numerous practical expeditions and seasonal schools, conducting projects on landslide monitoring, lake bathymetry, geo-archaeology, and geospatial analysis. His research interests also extend to environmental engineering and the innovative use of drones for digital aerial photogrammetry.

He is committed to teaching and mentoring civil engineering and geoscience students, designing engaging courses and workshops to enhance their technical skills and deepen their understanding of geomatics.
