Statement from the President of San Diego State University

Dear SDSU community,

It is terribly painful to watch the events now unfolding in Ukraine. We are horrified by the suffering of those in Ukraine and throughout the region. The impacts from the ongoing attack this week will be felt by people in every corner of the world.

Our university community is global, and we have a special relationship with this part of the world. To our students, staff, and faculty who have family and other loved ones in Ukraine and who are in any way tied to the region, we are here with you.

More essentially, we are ready to support you.

If you are impacted by the events in Ukraine and need counseling, academic, work-related, travel, or other emergency support, do not wait to reach out to us. Our university offers a range of support services, and many teams on our campus are on the ready to support and assist you.

To all members of our one SDSU community: we encourage you to be united in your compassion for one another. During this time of aggression and violence against the people of Ukraine, and frankly the world, we owe it to each other to be better.
