Lali Kajaia
In 1997, Lali Kajaia graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics at the Georgian Technical University. In 2000, she completed her master’s studies at the same university. In 2006, she defended her dissertation and earned the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences.
Professional Experience
- In 2006, she worked as a researcher at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Georgian Technical University.
- From 2007 to 2010, she worked as a research scientist at the K. Zavriev Institute of Structural Mechanics and Earthquake Engineering, in the department of Earthquake-Resistant Construction.
- From 2010 to 2012, she worked as a senior research scientist at the Institute of Buildings, Special Systems, and Engineering Support.
- From 2018 to 2023, she was a senior research scientist in the Sector of Seismic Hazard and Natural Disaster Risk at the M. Nodia Institute of Geophysics.
- Since 2023, she has been serving as an expert at the same institute.
- Since 2015, she has been the director of the K. Zavriev Center for Earthquake-Resistant Construction.
- Since 2011, she has been a professor at the Georgian Agrarian University.
Scholarly Activity and Recognition
Lali Kajaia is the author or co-author of up to 24 publications. She has participated in around 20 international conferences and symposia, and is a scholarship recipient of the Erasmus+ international exchange program. She has attended multiple international seminars and working meetings. Since 2023, Lali Kajaia has been elected as Georgia’s representative to the Education Committee of the World Council of Civil Engineers (WCCE).
